Thank Goodness for Credo Beauty: a Skincare Company Dedicated to Clean Makeup & Non-Toxic Products, Perfect for Those of Us Who Consider Ourselves Makeup Minimalists
This post was updated most recently March 2023.
The notion of “clean” makeup still feels rather daunting and confusing. There are, plus or minus, a bagillion makeup and skincare companies, many of which are run by seven makeup industry conglomerates and rake in billions each year.
It’s not news that many of these brands are not “clean” beauty brands by a long shot (i.e.: most makeup remains riddled with chemicals).
Heads up! This post contains affiliate links, and at no cost to you, I will be compensated if you click a link that I’ve shared. Thanks!
And there are an increasing number of organizations working hard to inform consumers about what’s actually IN the makeup and skincare products we purchase.
Quick summary: it ain’t good.
Credo Beauty
Credo calls itself “the largest non-toxic clean beauty store on the planet.”
Their mission is to “change the way people think about ingredients and products they put on their bodies. [They] want to create a safer, more sustainable, more ethical beauty industry.”
The Dirty List
Their site features “The Dirty List,” products and chemicals we probably don’t want on our skin and thus do not appear on the ingredient labels for products Credo sells.
I stumbled across Credo about five years ago when Googling “clean makeup.” And ever since, this online store (which also has well-designed, light & airy physical locations) has not disappointed. It’s now my go-to for makeup and skincare.
And although I’m sure that no seller of beauty products is perfect, Credo really tries and it shows.
I love their brand: they carry diverse products & smaller, just-getting-started beauty lines; have excellent customer service; feature easy-to-understand customer reviews; and are proud of their philosophy to clean beauty.
AND their website is pretty.
In a nutshell, Credo does the grunt work to filter through and find really great clean makeup and beauty products so we don’t have to. Holler.
Minimalist Makeup
To be clear: my minimalist makeup routine in the morning takes roughly six minutes. Because…life. And baby. Pre-bedtime ritual about the same.
Here are the 10 Credo makeup & skincare products I use every day (albeit one currently on hold thanks to pregnancy!).

Yes–love both of these so much!! The RMS UnCover-Up I’ve had for so long that it’s definitely time for a new one. But it seriously lasts! And the mascara is my favorite.
